Are you a Gamer or a Parent of a Gamer?

57:16

57:20

‎’Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth?…’ [Quraan, 57:16] Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.[Quraan, 57:20]

I have been an ex-gamer myself (not of those ugly war-craft games though). SubhanAllah. I was so proud of myself and I had even planned to become a computer programmer and design games.

How Allah SWT protects you from a scary fate! Allahu akbar!

Point being: If I can get over it, then anyone can. I regret all the years I spent as a child wasting away my intelligence at something so useless. Sometimes the regret is very intense. May Allah SWT forgive me and all of us.Ameen.

A beneficial read that I came across on FB today: Productivity Lessons from the Gaming World.

I’m not trained to tell you what is halal or haram. But there’s one thing I tell everyone and that is: if there are enough makroohat (plural of makrooh – i.e. disliked by Allah but not haram) in a certain action, just keep away from it because it’s probably on the borderline of taking you towards haram.

Keeping ‘wasting time’ out of this whole thing since most people will have tons of excuses; given the images and heavy music-background in games today, what does your heart say? Yay, or nay?

Please be honest to yourself. Your heart gives the best fatwa.

And if you’re a parent then please, fear Allah SWT and prevent yourself from allowing your children from such activities!

Allah SWT is Ar-Raqeeb, please don’t forget that.

You can come up with excuses today in front of any human being.

But you won’t be able to come up with excuses on the Day of Judgement in front of Allah SWT when your skin will testify against you!

May Allah SWT Shade us on the day where there shall be no shade. Ameen!

And Allah SWT knows best.

Ya ‘Afoo  we regret and we repent! Guide us and make us amongst those who use their time like those whom you’re Pleased with.Ameen.
