Allah SWT says in Surat Yusuf, ayah 76:
So he [Yusuf (Joseph)] began (the search) in their bags before the bag of his brother. Then he brought it out of his brother’s bag. Thus did We plan for Yusuf (Joseph). He could not take his brother by the law of the king (as a slave), except that Allah willed it. (So Allah made the brothers to bind themselves with their way of “punishment, i.e. enslaving of a thief.”) We raise to degrees whom We please, but over all those endowed with knowledge is the All-Knowing (Allah).
Allah SWT has a Plan for you too!
Yusuf AS was abandoned in the well by his brothers, sold as a slave, accused by a woman who adopted him as her own ‘son’, seduced by so many women and was imprisoned for several years forgotten even by those whom he did a favour… if anyone had a right to ‘doubt’ his life’s course, it would be Yusuf AS! But this was part of Allah SWT’s Plan for him AS. And what a Great Planner He SWT is! Notice how Allah SWT made events follow such a course that it favoured Yusuf AS’s plan and wish as shown in the above ayah. Everything fell into place perfectly! SubhanAllah!
So you may be going through some challenges, perhaps your entire life has been a challenge in of itself, but know that it was His Plan. If you hold onto patience and keep going on, Allah SWT will make things work in such an amazing way that He SWT will provide you aid and comfort in this world from places you would have had never ever imagined!
Positive Attitude of Yusuf AS & the Conditions which Qualify one for His Rewards
Look at the beautiful response of Yusuf AS to his brothers upon their questioning his identity (he AS didn’t even complain and instead thanked Allah SWT for re-uniting them! Allahu Akbar!):
They said: “Are you indeed Yusuf (Joseph)?” He said: “I am Yusuf (Joseph), and this is my brother (Benjamin). Allah has indeed been gracious to us. Verily, he who fears Allah with obedience to Him (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds, and by performing righteous good deeds), and is patient, then surely, Allah makes not the reward of the Muhsinun to be lost.”
[Tafseer of this aya # 90 here]
Take care of the Rights of Allah SWT and He SWT will take care of you.
Don’t waste your patience by lack of contentment and Allah SWT will not waste the reward of your patience.
Allah SWT is Al Jabbar, the Best of Repairers of Hearts.
And while you persevere, whenever you get even a small blessing, thank Allah SWT for it and let go of the turbulent past like Yusuf AS for this is one of the qualities of Al Muhsinoon!
And Allah SWT Knows Best.
