Umm Sulaym Needs Help…

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Narrated Anas: When it was the day of Uhud, the people left the Prophet while Abu Talha was in front of the Prophet shielding him with his leather shield. Abu Talha was a skillful archer who used to shoot violently. He broke two or three arrow bows on that day. If a man carrying a quiver full of arrows passed by, the Prophet would say (to him), put (scatter) its contents for Abu Talha.”

The Prophet would raise his head to look at the enemy, whereupon Abu Talha would say, “Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you ! Do not raise your head, lest an arrow of the enemy should hit you. (Let) my neck (be struck) rather than your neck.” I saw ‘Aisha, the daughter of Abu Bakr, and Um Sulaim rolling up their dresses so that I saw their leg-bangles while they were carrying water skins on their backs and emptying them in the mouths of the (wounded) people. They would return to refill them and again empty them in the mouths of the (wounded) people. The sword fell from Abu Talha’s hand twice or thrice (on that day).

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: The Prophet said, I saw myself (in a dream) entering Paradise, and behold! I saw Ar-Rumaisa’, Abu Talha’s wife. I heard footsteps. I asked, Who is it? Somebody said, ‘It is Bilal ‘ Then I saw a palace and a lady sitting in its courtyard. I asked, ‘For whom is this palace?’ Somebody replied, ‘It is for ‘Umar.’ I intended to enter it and see it, but I thought of your (‘Umar’s) Ghira (and gave up the attempt).” ‘Umar said, “Let my parents be sacrificed for you, O Allah’s Apostle! How dare I think of my Ghira (self-respect) being offended by you?

[Sahih al Bukhari, Book #57, Hadith #28]

Righteous husbands won’t avail us anything if we are ourselves on the wrong.

Allah presents an example of those who disbelieved: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of Our righteous servants but betrayed them, so those prophets did not avail them from Allah at all, and it was said, “Enter the Fire with those who enter.”

[Surat at-Tahreem, 66:10]

I love Umm Sulaym RA and nobody can imagine how much I miss her and wish to be like her inshaa’Allah.

It is my ardent desire that I and my future husband work together in His Cause just like Umm Sulaym and Abu Talhah RA…and that as we live, we are used in His Path and if death comes to us, we die in His Path.

My Nikah’s on the 24th inshaa’Allah. I need your help. I request you all to please remember me in your du’aas. Making du’aa for your fellow Muslim has a bounce-back effect by the way!

O Allah SWT help me elevate your Deen through this new relationship and honor me in Akhirah through this. Please find righteous companions for all those who are seeking and turn the hearts towards khayr of those who are already married. O Allah SWT please forgive us for our thanklessness through our transgressions…and grant us taqwa so that we don’t forget You in our happiness and sadness.

Ameen.

JazakummAllahu khayran,

-Umm Sulaym
